Claude Jack Faulkner enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at Jacksonville, Florida, on March 29, 1944, while still sixteen. He qualified as a Rifle Marksman, trained as a Heavy Artillery Crewman, and served with Battery B, 12th 155mm Gun Battalion, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific. His records show Pacific Area service beginning August 10, 1944, and an honorable discharge on June 26, 1946. He is laid to rest at Holly Hill Veterans Cemetery.
